2  Settings

There are two default settings in both R and RStudio that should be changed when you install R and RStudio. These settings relate to the use of .RData files to save the current state of your console and (automatically) recover this state when you restart R.

Fig Figure 2.1 shows Restore .RData into workspace at startup unchecked and the Save workspace to .RData on exit: set to Never. Making these adjustments to the default settings may save you many headaches down the road.
